Final Ideas
INTRO
Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. The literary origins are sometimes associated with the cyberpunk genre, steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a future during which steam power has maintained mainstream usage, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power.
For my final project ideas, I'm planning to do a photo shoot that related with the course that I'm going to take in my degree, which was animation/entertainment design. At first I literally do not know what to do and what to shoot , so I think cosplay photo shoot can be a good idea for this final project since animation and cosplay has a lot of common (my own thoughts).
So what I'm going to do is a cosplay photo shoot(portrait) by making my own props and costume. The model is going to be my brother who willingly to help me in this project.
Why steampunk? well it's a long story actually, I personally think that the art and design of steampunk is much unique than cyberpunk which is just like a normal cyber world/science fiction. It all started from my first Figure Drawing assignment where I have to draw a portrait about myself , so i imagine myself as a character who likes to procrastinate in everything and draw an hourglass and some steampunk clock. After that, the idea of this steampunk 'thingy' have been carried away into my 2nd FD assignment which was a mask. So i did a plague mask and...from there i realized something...i want to make a theme for my assignments, the figure drawing and photography. Both are elective subjects and relatable.
